Missouri's Keys To The Game

1.  Get Momentum Early

The crowd from both schools will be boisterous come kickoff a little past 7 PM this evening at Arrowhead Stadium.  With a good mix of blue and red, black and gold in the stands, the fans of the team having success will be cheering while the fans of the team struggling will be fairly quite.  In a neutral site game like this the crowd can be crucial, so it's important for the Tigers to start off strong, which hasn't been a problem most of the season.

2.  Pressure Reesing to Pieces

Forcing a quarterback to make quick decisions is important no matter the opponent, but it's especially the case against a talented player like Todd Reesing.  The Jayhawks have the ability to break a game open quickly as they have scored 45 points or more six times this season.  Missouri's defense must be able to blitz their linebackers without putting them in a disadvantage in the secondary.

3.  Daniel Needs To Avoid Stupid Passes

Missouri quarterback Chase Daniel has as good of accuracy and placement of a football as any quarterback in the country.  But such as in the Oklahoma game earlier this season, he sometimes tries to force passes he shouldn't and they become turnovers.  The good thing is Daniel has not thrown an interception in the past two games and has thrown only three interceptions in the past five games. As coaches will always say, if you can't find someone open, throw it away.

PREDICTION - Missouri 33, Kansas 28

Many are predicting this game to be a shootout, but as a former football coach who now likes to wear mascot heads would say "not so fast, my friend."  KU's scoring defense is tops in the Big 12 and second in the country.  On the flipside, Kansas' offense can be pretty explosive, but twice this season the Jayhawks were limited to only 19 points.  Missouri, meanwhile, has not been held under 30 points this season and I think that will be the case in Kansas City.  If the MU defense can slow down KU's offense even a little, it should be a victorious days for the Tigers.
